Learning how to “scrybe” is fun and easy. The SYNAPTICS | Scrybe™ application starts automatically when you log on to your computer. Scrybe waits for the activation gesture to perform the desired action.

These video tutorials teach you everything you need to know. An Adobe Flash player is required to view the videos.

Activate Scrybe

Use a Three Finger Tap

Tap three fingers on the TouchPad and the Scrybe Symbol Drawing Area displays. Get ready to scrybe.

To view the video you need at least Flash Player 9 and JavaScript enabled. You can get the latest version of the Flash Player from http://adobe.com/go/getflashplayer.

Use a Three Finger Press

Position your hand near the upper edge of the TouchPad. Press three fingers on the TouchPad, and then lift two fingers up. The Scrybe Symbol Drawing Area displays. Get ready to scrybe.

Use Control + Shift

If you don’t have a gesture enabled TouchPad, you can still use Scrybe. Hold the Control + Shift buttons and then draw, and the Scrybe Symbol Drawing Area will display. Get ready to scrybe.

Access the Scrybe Control Panel

From the Control Panel, you can… view the gesture list, watch symbol drawing demonstrations, practice “scrybing,” and set your preferences. There are a couple of ways to open the Control Panel.

Use the Scrybe Icon

You can open the Control Panel from the system tray by clicking the Scrybe icon .

Use a Scrybe Symbol

You can open the Control Panel by drawing the Scrybe “Control Panel” symbol.

View the Gesture List

You can open the Gesture List to see all of the Scrybe gestures that you can perform. You can print this list if you would like to.

Practice Drawing Scrybe Symbols

Click on a symbol on the left side of the Control Panel. The symbol will display on the right side. The animation shows you how draw it.

Edit a Scrybe Symbol

Click on a symbol on the left side of the Control Panel, and then click the Edit icon to open the Edit Gesture window.

Add a Scrybe Symbol

Click on a symbol on the left side of the Scrybe Control Panel, and then click the Add Gesture icon to open the New Gesture window.

Set your Scrybe Preferences

You can click the Preferences button in the Control Panel to change your settings.

Open the Scrybe Help

You can open the Help through the Scrybe taskbar icon by selecting the Help pop-up option.
